		<description>Dave - the iPhone embeds the geo-tags within the photos.  Because of this, it does not matter if they are on the original iPhone or not, any device or with software that can read the tags can find out where they were taken.</description>

		<description>I just saw this on my phone. And I see that the pics I shot were tagged. But a friend sent me pics through email and I saved em, but those pics came up on the map.. Shouldn&#039;t it only tag the pugs I take?? Also, it was in the wrong area.</description>

The geo-tagging is dependent on the iPhone&#039;s GPS, as such it may be deadly accurate, or completely wrong depending on what mood the phone is in when the photo is taken. If you&#039;ve ever opened the maps app, you know that there are times when the dot takes a while to mark where you really are. </description>
